Meet EIM Contributor, Jordan Davis!

Jordan Davis crouches in front of a sandy background while smiling.Hey there, fellow mamas! My name is Jordan Davis. I’m 31 and I’m a native of Eastern Idaho. I grew up in Rigby where I had such a fun and positive experience growing up. I loved being in a more rural area where we had to really make our own fun because there wasn’t a lot of provided entertainment.

I started dancing at 8 years old at a studio in Idaho Falls called Dance Depot. I lived and breathed dance! It taught me so many life lessons besides just the sport itself. I danced 4 days a week, so my time was very limited to do other activities. When junior high rolled around, though, I decided to give track and field a try. It turns out, I was pretty good at it! In high school, I broke several records in the long jump (including the Idaho state 4A record) and took the state title 3 years in a row in the long jump and in relays. This journey led me to accept a track scholarship to Idaho State University in 2009. I ran with ISU my freshman year, but due to some injuries, decided that is where my track career needed to end. I studied Mass Communication with an emphasis in visual arts and graduated with my BA in 2014. Living in Pocatello and going to school is where I was introduced to the dance studio I currently teach at now and have been for the past 11 years. The Dance Factory is where I learned that I have a passion for teaching! I enjoy teaching more than dancing myself (which is saying a lot because I absolutely love to dance)!

In 2011, I was married at 20 years old. My (then) husband and I had gone to school together and had started dating after high school. After struggling with infertility for 3 years, we were finally able to have our son, Seth. Then, in 2017, after 6 years of marriage, we decided to end our marriage and go our separate ways. Divorce is difficult but it led to so many more blessings down the road for both of us.

I met my husband, Drew, in a very unconventional way very soon after my divorce. He had also just recently been divorced and has two kids, Cache and Kennadee. We hit it off instantly and fell in love quite early on in our relationship. After only 8 months of dating, I found out I was pregnant with our daughter, Isla. At this point, we had talked about a future together, but definitely were not expecting to settle down this soon. (God definitely has bigger plans for us!) A week before our Isla was born, we decided to get married. Our cute little wedding, with me 9 months pregnant, fit our cute little unconventional story perfectly. I wouldn’t change it for anything.

Drew and I have now been married for 3 years and just had our second baby together, our son, Roen. Together we have 5 kiddos; it is a circus and it’s the best!

Having a blended family comes with its own set of challenges, but I believe we were made for this journey in life and it’s been such a blessing to us!

As for my professional life, I still teach dance down in Pocatello a couple of times a week (some say I’m crazy for making that drive but it’s 45 minutes there and back of peace and quiet… ifykyk). I am also a health coach and help people make better lifestyle choices with more holistic health practices. I love helping people better their lives and educating others on health and wellness. It has become another passion of mine and it brings me so much joy helping others feel their very best!

I am so excited for this opportunity to be a part of this wonderful community of women! I can’t wait to share my knowledge and passions with you all and learn and grow from so many of you as well.
