East Idaho Mom is excited to feature the Idaho Falls Summer Food Service Program as our nonprofit for June 2021. Eastern Idaho is fortunate to have a wealth of nonprofit and service organizations. By highlighting some of these groups, we hope to encourage moms and families to get involved and learn about all that our wonderful community has to offer.

The mission of the Idaho Falls Summer Food Service Program is to help eradicate childhood food insecurity during the summer months.” The program operates under New Day Lutheran Church LLC 501 (3)(c) and serves a healthy lunch to children 18 and under during the summer months at Kate Curley and Highland parks in Idaho Falls. This year they are partnering with the United Way of Bonneville County and Idaho Falls.  Children that participate in the summer program typically participate in the free or reduced school lunch program within the Idaho Falls community; however, the summer services are open to any child in need, including travelers from out of the city or state.
